The The Mangalakara Degree College was opened in 2015 and provides higher education to more than 700 young men and women. It offers five bachelor degree courses: one in commerce, one in management and three in science. Students that have not come from the Education Centre receive their education at a fraction of its cost elsewhere in India.

In 2018 one of the Degree College students, V. Sravani Bai, received the prestigious Prathiba award for academic excellence in Higher Education from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
